From Utah to Big Sur: A Styled Photo Shoot Journey with AW Bridal

An Elopement Bridal Photo Shoot in Indian Creek, Utah

Our first stop was the stunningly raw landscape of Indian Creek in Utah, a place that whispers adventure from every red rock formation. We chose this area for its natural drama, a rugged backdrop that complements the softness and femininity of AW Bridal’s gowns so well. With towering sandstone cliffs, endless horizons, and golden hour light straight out of a dream, Indian Creek was the ideal canvas to showcase the delicate beauty, unyielding strength, and fearless energy we were aiming for.

I was thrilled to capture my friend Heather fearlessly rock climbing in her bridal gown. Yes, you read that correctly—rock climbing in a full-on wedding dress! The visual symbolism alone gives me chills—it’s a powerful reminder that we can indeed have it all. (That girl’s got back muscles we’re all envious of.) You don’t have to sacrifice your love for adventure in exchange for having a beautiful, romantic wedding dress. You can climb rocks, hike trails, pop open a cold beer, kick back on the tailgate with your best friends, and still rock a stunning gown that makes you feel amazing.

From there, we ventured deeper into Utah’s incredible desert wonders, making our way to the legendary Double Arch at Arches National Park. Double Arch has an otherworldly vibe, feeling both intimate and grand simultaneously. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect pairing than the AW Minerva Wedding Dress—a dress designed to inspire boldness, grace, and authenticity. With its shimmering corset bodice, flowing lines, and subtle bohemian charm, the Minerva Dress gracefully echoed the dramatic curves of the Double Arch, creating a visual harmony that came alive in our photos.

Next Stop: The Rolling Oak Hills of Coastal California

But why limit ourselves to just one epic location? The adventure continued as we collaborated again with some more adventurous ladies, this time in the rolling oak hills east of Big Sur along California’s stunning coastline. The lush, golden hillsides provided the perfect contrast to the rugged reds of Utah, showcasing the versatility and timeless beauty of the AW Bridal dresses. Coastal California, with its gentle, golden landscapes and sun-kissed grasses dancing in the breeze, brought out a softer, romantic side of the Minerva Wedding Dress. It was as if the gown itself could belong effortlessly to both worlds—equally at home amid desert cliffs or coastal breezes. (But of course, we had to add in some tailgate giggles and princess-pink tulle in there, too.) We had a blast from beginning to end.
